What
We Believe...
We believe that there is
one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 3: 16-17; II Corinthians 13: 14;
Revelation 1:4-5).
We believe in the deity
of Christ (John 1:1); His virgin birth (Luke 1 :30-35); His
sinless life (Hebrews 4:15); His miracles (Acts 2:22); His atoning
death through His shed blood accomplishing our salvation (I Peter
1: 18-19); His bodily resurrection (Mark 16: 1-9); His ascension
to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); and His return in
the second coming and the final Judgment (I Thessalonians 4: 13-18).
We believe the Bible,
consisting of the Old and New Testaments, to be the Word of God,
inspired by God, sufficient as our only rule of faith and practice
(II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21).
We believe that we are
saved by faith. It is by faith that we believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God (John 3:16). It is by faith that we repent
and turn from godlessness to godliness (Luke 12: 1-3). It is by
faith that we confess that He is the Christ, the Son of the living
God (Matthew 10:32). It is by faith that we are immersed in water
for the forgiveness of our sins and to receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit (Acts 2:36-38; Mark 16: 16). It is by faith that we
are faithful until the end (James 1:12).
We believe in the present
ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling power and
fullness, the Christian is enabled to live a godly, holy life
in this present evil world (Ephesians 3:16).
We believe in the weekly
observance of the Lord's Supper, instituted by Him as a memorial
to His death and as a testimony of His coming again (I Corinthians
11: 17 - 34 ).
We believe that the primary
mission of the church is to evangelize a lost and dying world
with the gospel of Christ (Matthew 28: 19- 20).
